Have Passport, Will Travel

My passport has arrived.  According to the tracking number, it was delivered to my mailbox yesterday, a mere 15 days after I applied for it.  I was fully prepared for it to take up to 6 weeks to arrive, so I am quite pleased.

I need this passport for a very specific reason:  I won a cruise.  My company held a sales contest for the 4th quarter (fiscal Nov-Jan), and the GMs of the top 40 stores as measured to a particular goal won a cruise on Royal Caribbean.  Four stores in my district made the cut as well as my boss.  We each get to take a guest, and since I'm currently boyfriendless, I invited one of the other GMs who is a friend of mine.  Another GM is also without a significant other, so she invited one of our other GM friends.  We're very excited that all of us get to go on this cruise!

The itinerary is Ft. Lauderdale, Cozumel, Belize, then returning to port in Ft. Lauderdale.  I've been to Ft. Lauderdale before, but I've never been to Cozumel, and I certainly have never been to Belize.  I am very very excited, and the passport's arrival has made it all seem concrete now.

I can't wait to try all the onboard ship activities as well as some sea/shore excursions.  Apparently all the cruise fees, tips, meals, taxes, etc. are covered, but alcohol and activities are not.

If you've been on a cruise before, I would love to hear your advice.  What did you enjoy doing on the ship?  What should I absolutely make sure that I do?  What should I avoid?  What off-ship activities/excursions did you participate in?  Would you recommend those activities?  I'm willing to try just about anything, so please let me know.  Oh, also, what is the best way to have meals?  Man, oh, man, I want to thoroughly enjoy myself in all aspects on this cruise.

I'm so excited!  On May 12, I'll be on that ship!

i have been on two cruises. cozumel was one stop i had. the other nassau. we enjoyed cozumel and took a ride to see the tulum ruins. the bus ride was quite the experience and so was the ride from the ship to shore. my advice, if you leave the ship bring hand sanitizer. be prepared for some scary toilet facilities. other than that, it was great. you wil have a wonderful time. stay away from the railing if you have too much to drink. :)

I definitely plan on having lots of 'too much to drink', so I'll remember to stay clear of the railing.

we cruised Royal Caribbean two years ago. We were supposed to stop at Cozumel, but a hurricane had just been through so it was off limits.
I love doing tourist-y things, so I would recommend any of those type of excursions.
I enjoyed just relaxing and eating on the ship the most.
And, the drinks were fantastic!!
