SPF 70

It's less than 2 months until I head off to Florida and my rental house on Indian Rocks Beach. I wanted to pick up a few things now so that I'm not having to hustle at the last minute to acquire necessary items.

Last week I went to one of those 'dollar stores' and found several cheapo floatie rafts on sale. You remember the neon orange and pink and green ones from 20 years ago? They're still around and are perfect for straddling and bobbing up and down in the ocean.

Today I went to Walgreen's and found some plastic beach toys. I'm going to try my hand at building a sandBorders. We'll see how it goes. I also picked up some sun block...Neutrogena SPF 70. I mean, really....70? Is that possible? When I was younger I used to get so tan in the summer I looked like I were a member of a different race. These days I'm rather fair and don't want to get a nasty burn by being outside for 14 hours a day for 5 days.

...that is all

the trick is to keep putting the sunblock on in regular intervals but be sure to get special face sunblock. regular sunblock will actually burn your face and lips. very little is needed to have a good time at the beach.

Holy moley, 70 SPF? I'm pretty fair, and find that a couple of applications of 30 usually does it for me.

Not excited about this trip at all, are we? ;)

I'll think of you while I'm in Maine (though sadly, not Acadia) this weekend.

I think I'd like you as a member of a different race, did you get to pick which one, or did the sun make the decision for you?

I completely forgot this. And how could I, since this right on topic (well, for me it is).

Yesterday I saw a tangerine Element driving past me and it had Texas plates, so naturally I figured it was you stalking me. But, unless you are actually a Hispanic man, I guess it wasn't you after all.

I didn't know you were so white. Perhaps having a dark skin fellow like myself onboard will be helpful to you and your pale skin friends.

Charles, when I get very very tan I look Native American....but my brown hair sunbleaches blonde in streaks...so I look like a Native American with really odd hair.

And then, I'm very freckly, and all those come out in the sun....so really, I just look strange.

Native American. My favorite national brand of butter is Land O' Lakes.

And strange is good.
