I was working on a performance evaluation for one of my Managers this afternoon when the lights blinked. I went to quickly save the document, but then the power went completely off for a couple of seconds. Drat! I lost a very well-thought out portion of his review. I was able to reconstruct it, but it didn't have the same poetic beauty as the original version.
No tainted peanut butter for me. I only have Jiffy and the Kroger store brand in my cupboard.
I need advice: Dish Network or Direct TV? Definitely not cable.
Has anyone else's energy (electricity) bill gone insanely high in the past couple of months? I'm all about conserving electricity right now. In fact, I need to go turn off some lights in a minute.
I cooked a lovely peppercorn pork loin tonight with wild grain rice and a garden salad. It sure was tasty, and I have plenty of leftovers to take to work with me.
I purchased 'The Secret' and 'The Intellectual Devotional' today. I read today's passage in the latter, and am about 1/3 of the way through the former. I dig both of them. I'm very much getting into universal law of attraction, the power of intention, etc.

A LOOONG time ago when I worked for B. Dalton Booksellers we were permitted to sign out and take home new hardcovers (sans dust jacket) to read. The theory being we'd be better informed to sell to customers. Does Border's have that policy?

I know people with both Dish N and Direct TV and which is better seems to be more about what you watch than anything else.
For instance, with my cable (which I hate) I get three Bay Area PBS stations and I am used to it. If I went with Dish, I would only get two and if I went with D TV, I would get the three I have, lpus one more.
The premium packages (HBO, multiple ESPNs, etc) vary depending on the provider. I'm pretty sure it comes down to which gives you what you want at the best price.

I'm sorry, I forgot to ooh and ahh over your culinary achievements. That sounds very good.
If you are very fond of the loin, you should try doing it sometime with a rub made of the juice and rind of an orange and lime, pepper, oregano, and a bit of ground chili.
Leftovers are great in Cuban sandwiches, which is reason enough to do it.
I have cable (Comcast) in the bay area and I love, love, love it. We have DirecTV at the Tahoe house and I hate, hate, hate it. Everytime the wind blows, snow falls, rain falls, etc., it goes out. And it doesn't have "On Demand". And their Pay-Per-View sucks cuz you have to wait until a movie is starting to order it where with cable you just order it anytime and it comes right on AND with "On Demand" you get to continue to watch the movie for 24 hours.
